For Authors, Illustrators & Translators

Create With Lantern Kids

Lantern Kids is dedicated to producing beautifully crafted children's books that nurture young hearts and minds in the rich tradition of Shia Islam. If you write or illustrate stories that share this mission, we would love to hear from you.

What We Publish

Picture Books

Beautifully illustrated stories for the youngest readers (ages 0–6) that nurture wonder and faith.

Middle-Grade Stories

Engaging narratives for independent readers (ages 7–12) that bring tradition to life.

Illustration

We actively seek illustrators whose visual style can carry our stories across pages and hearts.

Translations

Faithful translations of beloved children's classics from Arabic, Persian, and other languages.

What We Don't Publish

We are committed to work that elevates the tradition. We respectfully decline:

  • Amateur or unedited work that has not undergone serious revision
  • Sectarian polemics or attacks on other traditions
  • Narrow ideological work that closes rather than opens inquiry

We are open to anything that enhances scholarship and demonstrates the real Islam in its depth and breadth.
